What are the advantages and disadvantages of G10 and G11 epoxy materials?

Jan 15, 2026

G10 and G11 are both epoxy fiberglass laminates, with core differences in temperature resistance, high-temperature electrical performance, cost, and applicable scenarios. The following are the core advantages, disadvantages, and selection points.

Advantages and disadvantages of G10

-Advantages: Lower cost, high cost-effectiveness; Excellent mechanical strength at room temperature and good dimensional stability; Chemical and moisture resistance, excellent processability, suitable for general use scenarios.
-Disadvantages: The upper limit of temperature resistance is about 130 ° C (Class B), and the electrical performance and strength decay quickly at high temperatures; No special flame retardancy, brittle under extreme impact, and prone to aging under long-term exposure to ultraviolet radiation.

Advantages and disadvantages of G11

-Advantages: Higher temperature resistance, continuous use up to 180 ° C (Class H); Electrical insulation and mechanical properties are more stable at high temperatures, with excellent resistance to moisture and heat, and arc resistance; Good thermal aging performance, suitable for harsh working conditions.
-Disadvantages: Higher material and processing costs; The mechanical strength at room temperature is similar to G10, with no significant advantage, and the cost-effectiveness is low in non high temperature scenarios.

Quick selection

-Budget priority, operating conditions ≤ 130 ° C, general insulation/structural components → choose G10.
-High temperature (≥ 150 ° C), high pressure and high frequency, and strict humidity/thermal aging → Choose G11.
