FRP trapezoidal shape profiles consist of high-grade polyester resin and use glass fibers as reinforcement. The profile has the characteristics of light weight, high strength, good corrosion resistance, good electrical performance, good thermal performance and easy design. Trapezoid profiles are a popular shape of FRP pultruded profiles and are widely used for slot wedges in transformers, the motor industry and in coils.
Most of the stator windings and rotor windings of low-voltage motors use FRP trapezoidal profiles. The magnet wire of this type of motor winding is mainly covered with insulating material with padding, mainly including slot insulation, interlayer insulation and cover tape insulation. Profiles are placed behind all insulating pads. On the one hand, it can ensure the relative fixation of the magnet wire in the slot and the relative position stability between the insulating material and the magnet wire, the insulating material and the iron core; on the other hand, the profile can also strengthen the insulation performance of the coil in the slot. FRP trapezoidal profiles play the dual role of insulation reinforcement and space limitation in motor windings.

2.What is the difference between Epoxy Slot Wedge and FRP Pultruded Trapezoidal Slot?
A:Composite material Slot Wedge in which synthetic resin is used as matrix material. According to the different matrix resin used, it can be divided into epoxy resin, unsaturated polyester resin, phenolic resin FRP and so on.Epoxy resin is characterized by high compression and tensile strength. It can still maintain good mechanical properties under high temperature for a long time. It has good arc resistance, UV aging resistance and climate resistance. Unsaturated resin is characterized by light weight, high strength, good corrosion resistance, excellent electrical performance, unique thermal performance, excellent processing performance and good material designability.
The disadvantage of epoxy resin is that the price is high, which is more than twice that of unsaturated polyester resin, and the curing time is long (unsaturated polyester resin can be cured within 1 hour, while epoxy resin needs more than 10 hours). These two disadvantagerods material cost and labor cost of epoxy resin is higher than unsaturated polyester resin.FRP Slot Wedge usually use unsaturated polyester resin.

A: SMC machining slot wedge is processed by SMC insualtion sheet and FRP Pultruded Trapezoidal Slot Wedge is through heating and extrusion from the mold and this production process is continuous, the product quality is stable and the output capacity is high than machining production.SMC and FRP main material is fiberglass and resin,both SMC and FRP have the advantages of light weight, non-conductive, stable performance and high mechanical strength.
