High Temperature SMC Insulation Sheet A heat-resistant grade insulating material used in motor (or transformer) windings. Insulation materials commonly used in motors and transformers are divided into different grades. The insulating material of each insulation grade has a corresponding limit working temperature. If the temperature is too high, the insulation material will be accelerated to age, and the service life of the motor or transformer will be shortened. Our products are made of high-grade unsaturated polyester resin joined with glass fiber reinforcement material and have class F heat resistance at high temperatures.

4. Application

1. How much temperature can SMC Insulation Sheet withstand?
A: Our SMC Insulation Sheet withstand F class of 155 centigrade (℃).It indicates the maximum allowable working temperature of the insulating structure, and at such temperature, it can maintain its performance within the predetermined service life. Although there are allowable high values, there should also be an actual reference value in actual work.
2. Can the temperature resistance of the High Temperature SMC Insulation Sheet be higher than 155 centigrade (℃)?

4. What is the problem with exceeding the maximum temperature limit?

5. Why can SMC sheet temperature resistance only reach grade F class?
A:Unsaturated polyester resin is a thermosetting resin, which can be solidified into an insoluble polymer network polymer under the action of heat or initiator.Unsaturated polyester mix with fiberglass is an anisotropic material. Under the action of stress, the metal is generally divided into two stages: elastic deformation and plastic deformation. Under the action of stress,SMC sheet generally has no significant plastic deformation stage, no yield point, delamination in the process of stress, and is easy to break suddenly under overload. Secondly, the modulus of SMC sheet is low, which is 10 times worse than that of steel. Therefore, products with high rigidity requirements must be carefully designed. Third, the heat resistance of SMC sheet is much different from that of metal materials. So far, the long-term service temperature of SMC sheet is only F class.
6. What kind of resin does the High Temperature SMC Insulation Sheet use?
A:It uses unsaturated polyester resin.Resins are classified into two types according to their properties, one is thermosetting resin and the other is thermoplastic resin. Thermosetting resins (generally used for FRP) include unsaturated polyester / vinyl ester / epoxy / phenolic / bismaleimide (BMI) / polyimide resin, etc. Thermoplastic resins include polypropylene (PP) / polycarbonate (PC) / nylon / polyetheretherketone (PEEK) / polyethersulfone (PES), etc.
