Spray forming, also known as spray forming, is a method of laying and forming using manually operated machinery. The process is as follows: by adjusting the working status of each component of the spray molding machine, the resin and additives can be mixed according to the required ratio, so that the cutting speed of the cutter can exactly meet the demand for cutting fibers. Then, the resin passes through the nozzle, and the fibers are evenly sprayed onto the surface of the mold through the discharge hopper, and then formed by rolling and exhaust. If the felt layer is first laid on the mold, then the mixed resin is sprayed out from the spray gun, and then formed through exhaust, it also belongs to spray molding.
Fiberglass spray molding process
Spray molding method uses machinery to replace the raw material supply system of hand layup method, which mixes curing agents, accelerators, resins, etc. through different pipelines in the spray gun and directly sprays them onto the mold to make products. At this point, a liquid curing agent should be used as the curing agent. It can be sprayed together with short cut untwisted coarse yarn, or resin can be sprayed separately on fiberglass fabric to produce FRP products by blowing bubbles. It can also be used to spray adhesive coating resin instead of manual brushing.
Spray molding operation
The spray molding process adopts a dual nozzle spray gun, with one nozzle spraying resin. This nozzle is the convergence of two pipes, one pipeline is the curing agent, and the other pipeline is the resin containing the promoter. After atomization and mixing at the nozzle, it is sprayed out. This type of spray gun is called an external mixing type (also known as an internal mixing type, where the resin and curing agent are mixed from one pipeline to the nozzle inside the gun). Another nozzle is to cut the fiberglass yarn into short fibers of fixed length through the cutter behind the nozzle, and then use compressed air to spray it out. The two nozzles are at a certain angle, allowing the sprayed resin and short cut fibers to converge on the mold and form, replacing manual layering operations.
MVP injection equipment operation
This method is a manual operation carried out using machinery, and the quality of the operation is still manually controlled by the operator, but it reduces labor intensity. The fiberglass layer formed by this method is equivalent to using glass fiber short cut felt for infiltration molding, with high resin content and good density, but relatively low strength, and is only suitable for products with low strength requirements. In the production of watercraft, only the fiberglass felt layer can be replaced, not the glass cloth layer. Otherwise, it should be thickened to achieve the design strength of the combination of cloth and felt. During spraying operations, resin mist may escape, and on-site labor protection measures should be taken.
