The main raw materials of SMC insulation sheet are fiberglass, unsaturated resin, low shrinkage additives, fillers and various additives. It first appeared in Europe in the early 1960s. Around 1965, the United States and Japan successively developed this technology. In the late 1980s, China introduced foreign advanced SMC production lines and processes. SMC has the advantages of superior electrical performance, corrosion resistance, light weight, easy and flexible engineering design, and its mechanical properties can be comparable with some metal materials, so it is widely used in transportation vehicles, construction, electronics / electrical and other industries.
