From January to June 2024, my country's cumulative imports of glass fiber and products were 51,800 tons, down 7.50% year-on-year; the cumulative import value was US$393 million, up 10.70% year-on-year.
In June, the import volume of glass fiber and products was 10,900 tons, up 2.83% year-on-year and 9.3% month-on-month; the import value was US$73 million, up 2.82% year-on-year and 2.2% month-on-month.
Among them, the monthly import volume of commodity yarn, woven fabrics, mechanical felt, chemical felt, prepreg and other products in June was 8,676.17 tons, 762.30 tons, 181.72 tons, 218.45 tons and 1,067.12 tons, accounting for 79.56%, 6.99%, 1.67%, 2.00% and 9.78% respectively.
Among the 31 specific tariff items, the top three imports in June were glass fiber chopped strands not exceeding 50 mm in length, glass fiber roving and glass fiber chopped strands exceeding 50 mm in length, with import volumes of 4241.03 tons, 3163.97 tons and 921.40 tons respectively. The three items together accounted for 76.39% of the total exports this month. The smallest import volume was other glass fiber mesh woven fabrics with a width of no more than 30 cm, which was only 0.12 tons.
The top three import volumes in June that increased month-on-month were other chemically bonded glass fiber mesh fabrics, glass fiber roving and chemically bonded glass fiber mesh mats, which were 318.3%, 164.7% and 147.9% respectively, with import volumes of 8.53 tons, 3163.97 tons and 24.04 tons respectively. In addition, the import volume of glass fiber roving mesh woven fabrics with a width of more than 30 cm was zero last month, and 0.45 tons were imported this month.
