What is the difference between GPO3 sheet and GPO3 profile?

May 13, 2025

The main differences between GPO3 sheet and GPO3 profile are as follows:

Shape specifications

-Plate: Usually in the form of a plate, with large planar dimensions and relatively small thickness. Common specifications include 1000mm × 1200mm, 1230mm × 2100mm, etc., with a thickness generally around 0.8-50mm.

-Profile: including various shapes such as groove, angle, square tube, square rod, round tube, round rod, etc. Special shapes can also be customized.

Processing method

-Board: Generally made through hot pressing process, it may undergo cutting, drilling, grinding and other processing to meet different size and precision requirements.

-Profile: In addition to hot pressing, special forming processes such as extrusion and pultrusion may also be required to manufacture specific shapes. During the processing, bending, stamping, and other operations may be more involved to form various complex structures.

Application scenarios

-Board material: commonly used to make partitions, liners, arc extinguishing enclosures, terminal blocks for various switchgear, as well as insulation boards for transformer components. It is mainly used in situations where large-area insulation isolation is required.

-Profile: It is more commonly used in columns, beams, cable trays in medium and high voltage frequency converters, inverters, high voltage switchgear and other equipment, as well as safety barriers, spacing pads, etc. in circuit breakers, to provide structural support and insulation protection.

Performance characteristics

The basic properties of the two are similar, such as high mechanical strength, good electrical performance under high humidity, strong heat resistance, and good flame retardancy. However, there are also differences in certain aspects. Due to the special shape of profiles, their mechanical properties may focus more on compression and bending resistance to meet the requirements of structural support; And the board pays more attention to the strength in the plane direction and the uniformity of insulation performance.
