What are the advantages of GPO-3 over epoxy materials?

May 21, 2025

-Good processing performance: GPO-3 can be easily processed and formed using standard metal processing equipment, including stamping, drilling, mechanical processing, shearing, and sanding. Although epoxy materials also have good processing performance, GPO-3 may have more advantages in terms of processing convenience and efficiency, such as UTR grade GPO-3, which is easy to produce and shape at high speed in machining centers.

-Excellent arc resistance: GPO-3 has excellent arc resistance, with an arc withstand time greater than 180 seconds. Epoxy materials usually do not have such outstanding arc resistance performance, so GPO-3 is more suitable for electrical equipment that requires high arc resistance.

-Good flame retardancy: The grades 1580 and UTR of GPO-3 are UL rated V-0, and UTR does not contain halogens, resulting in very little smoke and toxic fumes when ignited. In contrast, general epoxy materials require the addition of flame retardants to achieve flame retardant effects, and some may also produce toxic gases and more smoke.

-Strong dimensional stability: GPO-3 has stable dimensions and small thickness tolerances, usually meeting thickness tolerance requirements without grinding. It can provide a stable material foundation for applications that require high dimensional accuracy, while epoxy materials may be slightly inferior in this regard.

-Good high-temperature performance: GPO-3 has UL temperature rating indicators in the electronic and mechanical ranges of 120-210 ℃ and 130-210 ℃, with a thermal deformation temperature greater than 240 ℃, and can maintain good performance in high-temperature environments. Epoxy materials are generally suitable for medium and low temperature environments, and their performance at high temperatures is not as good as GPO-3.
